A Journey to Remember: Marianne’s Safari and Mountain Adventure in Tanzania
Between January and February 2026, we had the great pleasure of hosting Marianne at Safiri By Mazzola. What began as a simple stay quickly turned into a memorable chapter for everyone at the house & our team, as Marianne set out to explore the very best of Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit, before heading high into the mountains.
From the moment she arrived, Marianne carried a calm and thoughtful spirit. She moved through each day with quiet confidence, never rushing, always taking in the beauty around her. Whether sharing stories over breakfast before an early departure or returning in the evening after days of adventure, she had a way of bringing a peaceful energy into the house.
Discovering the Northern Safari Circuit
Marianne’s safari journey began across the spectacular landscapes of northern Tanzania. Her itinerary included some of the country’s most famous wildlife destinations, each offering its own unforgettable experience. A Four Day Safari she loved so much that lead to her wanting more from our team
In Tarangire National Park, she explored landscapes dotted with ancient baobab trees and vast elephant herds. The quiet rhythm of the park seemed to suit her perfectly as she watched wildlife move slowly through the golden savannah.
One of the highlights came with her visit to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater. Standing on the crater rim before descending to the wildlife-rich floor below is a moment that many travelers never forget. For Marianne, it was simply another moment she embraced with calm appreciation, taking in the incredible landscape and the abundance of wildlife that makes the crater so unique.
Of course, the adventure would not be complete without the vast plains of Serengeti National Park. Here she experienced the timeless magic of the Serengeti lion prides resting under acacia trees, giraffes crossing the plains, and the endless horizon that defines this legendary ecosystem.
Taking the Adventure Higher
After experiencing the wildlife of Tanzania, Marianne turned her attention toward the mountains.
Her first challenge was Mount Meru, a dramatic and often underestimated climb rising above Arusha. The trek offers incredible views, wildlife encounters along the trail, and a steep summit ridge that demands focus and endurance.
Marianne approached the climb with the same steady determination she had shown throughout her safari. Guides and fellow climbers often commented on how effortlessly she seemed to move up the mountain, maintaining her calm pace while taking in the beauty of the landscape.
With Mount Meru behind her, she set her sights on the ultimate goal: Mount Kilimanjaro.
Climbing Africa’s highest peak is never easy, yet Marianne carried herself with quiet strength from the rain forest slopes all the way to the alpine summit zone. Day by day she moved higher, crossing dramatic landscapes and pushing through the challenges that come with high-altitude trekking.
Watching her pursue such an ambitious journey with such calm determination left a lasting impression on everyone who followed her progress from the house.
A Guest Who Became Part of the Family
While the safaris and climbs were extraordinary, what truly made Marianne’s stay special was the connection she formed with the team at Mazzola Safari House.
Over the weeks she spent with us, she became more than just a guest. The team loved hosting her, sharing stories, celebrating her progress on the mountains, and welcoming her back after each adventure across the circuit.
By the time February arrived and her journey came to an end, saying goodbye was not easy. Marianne had become part of the rhythm of the house, and her calm presence left a lasting mark on everyone who had the chance to meet her.
Guests come and go, but some journeys stay with us. Marianne I know we will meet again. Thank you for everything.
