Experience the beauty and diversity of Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destinations on this six-day safari adventure through Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. This itinerary combines exceptional game viewing, breathtaking landscapes, and comfortable camping experiences in the heart of nature, with a special focus on the Great Wildebeest Migration in Serengeti National Park.
Three days are dedicated to exploring the legendary Serengeti ecosystem and witnessing the Great Wildebeest Migration, often described as “The Greatest Show on Earth.” Every year, more than 1.5 million wildebeests, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, move in a continuous circular journey across the Serengeti and Kenya’s Maasai Mara in search of fresh grazing and water.
This migration is driven entirely by rainfall patterns and survival instincts. The herds travel across vast plains, woodlands, and river systems, creating one of the most dramatic wildlife events in the world. Their movement attracts predators in extraordinary numbers, turning the Serengeti into a stage for intense interactions between prey and predator.
Depending on the season of travel, visitors may witness different phases of the migration:
Massive herds stretching across the endless plains
Calving season, when thousands of wildebeest calves are born daily
Predator action involving lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas
Dangerous river crossings where crocodiles wait beneath the water
Dust-filled migration columns moving across the savannah at sunset
The migration is not simply a movement of animals, it is the heartbeat of the Serengeti ecosystem, shaping the behavior and survival of countless species.
A day in Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Formed millions of years ago when a giant volcano collapsed, the crater is now the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. Its diverse habitats including grasslands, forests, swamps, and soda lakes that support a wide variety of animals such as lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, flamingos, and the endangered black rhino. Often referred to as a “natural wildlife sanctuary,” Ngorongoro offers exceptional game viewing throughout the year within a breathtaking landscape surrounded by the dramatic crater walls.
This safari creates the perfect balance of adventure, nature, and authentic African wilderness experiences. It is a journey filled with unforgettable memories, spectacular game viewing, and the true spirit of Tanzania’s wild beauty.
Your safari begins with a scenic drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, a park renowned for its giant baobab trees, rolling savannahs, and large elephant populations. Along the way, enjoy spectacular scenery and wildlife sightings before descending into the endless plains of Serengeti. As you enter the park, the landscape opens into vast grasslands that support the migration herds. Your guide will begin tracking wildlife movements and positioning the safari to maximize opportunities for migration viewing. Game viewing continues en route to Seronera, located in central Serengeti , an area famous for year-round wildlife concentrations and excellent predator sightings. Even when migration herds move to other regions, Seronera remains one of the best places to observe lions, leopards, elephants, hippos, and cheetahs. The synchronized movement of these animals creates breathtaking scenes unlike anywhere else in the world. Throughout the safari, your guide will use wildlife knowledge and real-time migration patterns to take you to the most rewarding viewing areas. Dinner and overnight camping at Seronera Campsite.
